Community People: The Heart of Lindang
Brgy. Lindang is headed by Hon. Joseli-Grace Española with her secretary, 9 Brgy. Kagawads, 6 Barangay health workers and a Barangay Nutrition Scholar. The Brgy. Has also its set of Brgy. Tanods who look after the safety of the place. Together, they form the cohesive league that aims to respond to the needs of their constituents.
During our 3-week stay in Lindang, we saw the potential of the Brgy. Leaders in dealing with their people. More so, they were hospitable enough to offer us help in any way they can. Being new to this place is another adjustment. We were always visited by the Brgy. Secretary who also gave us our very first tour in Lindang. With their hospitality alone, we already felt at home as strangers in their land.
The Brgy. Health Workers (BHWs) as well as the Brgy. Nutrition scholar (BNS) were also very active in their respective roles. They have adaily rotation in the for their duty in the BHS. The BNS, on the other hand keeps track of the nutritional status of the kids in Lindang and having identified malnourished ones, a feeding program has been initaitaed for a month nnow, to last for 6 months.
Brgy. Lindang won’t be called a community without its people. They are the main ingredients that give spice to the already vibrant land. Majority of the people in Brgy Lindang speak Ilonggo and in fact were migrants from Ilo-ilo. Their mellow and sweet language were music to our ears although this means another effort knowing their language. -nurdaya abubakar
